18U Knights - Crabb Goes Distance as Knights Beat Gatineau

OTTAWA, MAY 27 – Pitcher Charlie Crabb tossed a complete-game, five-hitter to lead the Ottawa Knights to a 4-2 win over Gatineau Thursday.

The Knights evened their Quebec U18 AAA league record to 2-2 with the win at Ottawa Stadium.

Ottawa built a 4-0 lead behind Crabb’s solid pitching before Gatineau got a couple of late runs to make the game close.

Offensively for the Knights, Ryan Morrissette led the way with two hits and an RBI. Steve Renaud slammed an RBI triple and both Justin Carpenter and Steve Milks had RBI singles. Renaud was a force, adding two stolen bases and two runs scored.

Catcher Carpenter also helped shut down the Gatineau offence by throwing out two runners trying to steal second base.

The Knights face a busy weekend, hosting a doubleheader Saturday at noon at Trillium Park, then travelling to the Montreal  Orioles for a doubleheader on Sunday.
