Knights 15u express derailed in Mississauga

2009-05-31

The Ottawa Knights 15u played their first tournament of the year, the Mississauga Southwest Baseball Association tournament. They were faced with injuries to two key players, terrible weather and having to play three games in one day.  As a result, they were 0-3 in the tournament, losing to Aurora, East York and Georgetown.  Their first game Friday night was rained out after a 45 minute rain delay, which necessitated the three games in one day on Saturday.  The first two games were played in very chilly weather, while the third game was delayed over one hour due to monsoon-like weather.  Despite the final scores, the games were competitive as the outcomes were not decided in all three games until the late innings.  The Knights resume their AABC league play on June 6 with a doubleheader at Knapps Station.  Their next tournament, the Mississauga North Baseball Association tournament is July 3 - 5.
