Another five-year standout with the Knights, Fitzgerald helped lead the Monroe Tribunes (NJCAA DIV II) to back-to-back berths in the Junior College World Series.

A lifetime .300 hitter with the Tribunes, he did some of his most impressive hitting at the World Series. His 3-for-5 performance against perennial favourite Grand Rapids CC in an 8-4 Monroe win highlighted his ability to perform in clutch situations. Fitzgerald’s on-field performance and leadership abilities were rewarded after his sophomore year when he signed a scholarship with the Manhattan College Jaspers (NCAA Division 1).

Fitzgerald is entering his junior year at Manhattan, and remains active with the Knights, mentoring the team’s young catchers when back at home.
